It’s designed to go in a case. A case is not optional. That’s why Apple made one, even though they never made any iPhone or iPod cases and left that entirely to 3rd parties. iPad is like a paper pad that you slot into a folio. It’s naked without, in a way that iPhone is not.

Scrabble can be played by 4 players. You really do put iPad in the middle of the table, and each user’s tiles show on their iPhone or iPod touch.

I shudder at the thought of computers at a coffee table … the thought of hot liquids and technology bring back expensive memories, LOL.

I just ordered 40 for use with professional development at my uni. The aim is to not be at a desk. The aim is to take them to the masses. As many have rather old machines, then ipad makes for great portability. I seem them being used from the comfort of a lounge around a coffee table. They are intimate devices, ideal for critical consumption. I believe having a line drawn between consumption – as an aid for critcal thinking and creating is valid. They also last 10 hours. Yes I drank the Kool Aid.

It’s perfect. Folds up like a book to keep it safe, opens out flat, or folds into a stand for use on a table, on your lap or wherever.
