My work for the 2gether NHS Trust involved training clinical and admin staff in the use of digital dictation.
The digital dictation system in use was BigHand. This deployed a version of Nuance dragon dictate to enable users to verbally dictate documents such as Clinical correspondence or patient progress notes onto medical record systems using voice dictation.
The software was installed on mobile phone devices and also on laptop computers. This allowed users to dictate their notes whether in the field or in the office. The training involved the staff learning how to use the mobile phone software to record and submit dictations and also in using the laptop software to both submit and correct the transcribed texts.
The mobile phone software was running on Windows Mobile devices in this instance, though it is also available for iOS and Android devices. This led to the requirement to train end users in using the Windows Mobile operating system.
