A Black and White Photo Walk

A Black and White Photo Walk

Inspired by a video by Ian Robertson, I decided to have a go at taking some monochrome pictures using only my smartphone while on my daily walk.

I am not sure if Ian had set his smartphone to capture images in black and white or if he had processed them in monochrome afterwards on a computer. In my case, I decided to set the camera on my smartphone to shoot in black and white.

There are three or four routes I can take for my daily walk. One of them leads to a small country park, which is great in fine weather, another leads into the city centre but I don’t always fancy that. Other walks are a combination of suburban pathways; which is what I usually prefer in cold or wet weather. These photos have been captured over three or four days of walks, I am not saying any of them have been expertly captured; in fact all are at best, snapshots. Nevertheless, I am pleased with some of the images, what do you think?

Frozen Graves. I am not sure I have done justice to this image. I noticed that some of the graves in St Lawrence church were buried under flood water which had frozen.
